Well, hello there! It’s been a week, I have many things to talk about, but all things cat take priority.
As you all know, it was my birthday a couple of weeks ago. And as much as I love my birthday, I don’t celebrate for longer than a week. But in this case I made an exception for my friend Maartje, because she didn’t get a chance to celebrate with me on my birthday. She suggested we go to Kopjes, Amsterdam’s one and only cat cafe. Perfect idea, if you ask me, since I absolutely adore cats. They make my heart happy. I mean they’re just so freaking adorable, and the cats at Kopjes love attention. It just doesn’t get any better than that. So I went ahead and made a reservation for brunch. Yay.
Let me tell you, this cafe is literally the best thing since sliced bread. You drink some coffee, eat some cake, and pet some cats. Not only are the cats fluffy and cute, the food is delicious!
I’m actually nowhere near emotionally stable enough to deal with so many good things all at once. My friend said I was speaking to Maan in a very soft voice, basically whispering sweet nothings.
‘To be honest, I love cats. All cats. From tiny kittens to huge tigers. So it’s not hard for me to declare my love to individual cats. But that doesn’t mean I don’t genuinely love you, little Maan.’ – actual conversation I had with the first cat to jump on our table.
The whole morning was basically a preview for what I think heaven will be like. You may think I’m joking, but I love kitties so much, the idea that heaven is a cafe where they come to your table for cuddles is arguably the best description of the place I’ve ever heard. Being surrounded by sweet, little fluffies makes you forget about all the bad and stressful things in your life. So I’m going back tomorrow. Just kidding. Or am I? Yeah, okay. I’m kidding.
Talk to you later,
Mel ♥
